Ambidextrous Writing – A Workshop at Write On Door County

November 15, 2014 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$65

This workshop explores the process of following your conscious and unconscious mind into story and poem.

The word ambidextrous comes from the Latin ambi meaning “both” and dexter meaning “favorable.” Using the popular idea of the bicameral brain as a springboard, this writing workshop will examine the creative alchemy between our rational and associative minds. Through in-class writing exercises, practices to enhance attention, and group discussion, we’ll delve into the sui generis of our own imaginations. We’ll explore how the use of symbol and image and connotative and denotative language add depth and texture to our writing. This workshop will be helpful to artists of all genres.
